Prime location in Beijing
A short walk from Forbidden City, good shopping mall close by and some really nice small restaurants to enjoy. Hidden gem is the Lounge at the hotel, top floor view to Forbidden City and mountains, great sunsets and very attentive staff. Will visit again.
Amazing location, staff was really friendly and helpful, room was incredible and the view breathtaking.
Executive Room was incredible and service truly amazing. Great stay in Beijing.
I will definitely recommend it.
Great hotel and location
We have stayed in many Accor hotels around the world including Ibis, Novotel, Mercure and Sofitel. This Novotel was clean with nice rooms, a good western and Chinese breakfast, and a great location. Ask for a quiet room not on the main street.
Excellent choice,centrally located
Great choice of hotel as was very central to everything. Fabulous buffet breakfast, Clean and spacious rooms, Good value for money and pleasant staff. Not too far from the airport and close to tourist attractions
Perfectly situated fir a great stay
We were very pleased to book into our pleasant room and realise we were within walking distance of so many attractions and restaurants. Beds are very comfortable and tge staff extremely attentive. Blair Xu made us feel so welcome and recommended some amazing places to visit. Zhao Hongyan was an extremely competent waitress. We felt very special.
Spacious room, clean and comfortable. Nice staffs and good services. Concierge gave helpful information to the destination we chose, include car rental, and taxi went to the airport as we were 4 people with big luggage.
Regular business traveller to Beijing in 2020
This is a very value for money hotel in downtown Beijing convenientally located next to the Wanfujing shopping street and nearby business district, also close to the forbidden city. Although not the newest hotel the condition is well maintained and the executive rooms are spacious with good light - and if you are lucky you'll get a view of the CBD skyscrapers. I always get the same lady at checkin and she's very helpful with all the registration requirements - they are quite strict in Beijing in the pandemic period - and if you don't speak Chinese they are fluent in English. I even get updgraded sometimes.
It's really good price for the area compared to other hotels and my favorite benefit of staying there is that you are literally opposite the Peninsula Beijing, so I can go there for a drink on the rooftop bar without need spend a lot on a room.
This is a really lovely hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful which is great for a non Chinese speaker. It is within walking distance of a lot of major attractions and great eating places. The restaurant and room service were superb. Would highly recommend this hotel
Arriving to Beijing for first time
It was a surprise to arrive a very nice hotel, the room was clean confortable and very good blankets and towels, the breakfast buffet was made to please Chinese and occidental fellows, the staff was very helpful, ready to give a good advice whatever you inquire, not a Toefl level of english but enough to get trough.
very good location near many places of interest.
Very well located close to the center and the metro.
The staff is very nice. The booking desk at the entry is really helpful.
The hotel is clean and then the rooms.
The breakfeast is really good, with a range of dishes, chinese and western.
Friendly and Helpful Staff at Novotel Beijing Peace
The staff at Novotel Beijing Peace were very helpful in ensuring we were comfortable. Providing us with directions to popular site and giving us recommendations for good food. The staffs, especially Blaire and Alicia were extremely thoughtful indenting for us Breakfast take aways as we had morning train and tours to catch. Thank you ladies!
great hotel, great location
spend five nights in the hotel, second time since my stay in last february, for five nights too.
though the hotel has been constructed about sixty years ago, it is very convenient and the rooms are furnished very comfortable. the lobby is very spacious and looks great.
i would recommend to book a room with an access to the lounge (free breakfast and dinner, very rich and tasty).
the service is very good, the staff (especially the staff in the lounge) is very friendly and helpful.
i got a huge corner-room (upgrade).
i want to say „thank you“ to the staff again - and see you the next time.
Cannot fault this Novotel. The staff were really polite and helpful and as a non Mandarin speaker I didn't have a problem with the language barrier. The room was a good size and well kept, as was the hotel overall. The shower was great. I was on the 14th floor and had views over towards the Forbidden City. We only had a few days in Beijing and wanted to be close to the main sights. This hotel is a short walk to the metro which is really easy to use and gets you anywhere in the centre in a matter of minutes. The hotel is also a short walk to Wangfujing Street with lots of malls for you to be able to get inside and away from the cold. The only downside if any was that food and drink in the hotel is expensive e.g. 48 yuan for a bottle of water, but there are plenty of corner shops near by to get your own supplies.
6 night stay in Novotel Peace
Stayed for 6 nights. Overall a pleasant experience. Location is fantastic, local breakfast places (which cost less than 3USD per pax ), convenient stores and cake shops.
Room was large and comfortable, concierge was very helpful in suggesting places to go. Check out and checkin were smooth and fast.
Great value amazing location
Stayed a week here touring Beijing and chose it because of the location, service and the Accor brand. Everything is expected of the hotel and brand.
Check in and check out processes were fast and easy.
Rooms are too dim and hot water not hot enough.
Great hotel in excellent location for wondering to lovely restaurants after along day sightseeing highly recommend this hotel turn left out off hotel and left again at traffic lights you wil. Find some lovely little restaurants
We liked everything about this place - perfect location (steps from Wangfujing street and about 20 min walk to the Tiananmen square), nice spacious rooms, in-room tea, coffee, and water, great customer service. The breakfast buffet is plentiful, with huge selection of American, European, and Chinese style food, and everything is delicious. Highly recommend!
very nice hotel
good place to stay, centrally located, good breakfast, plenty of food places nearby, major sites nearby, nice rooms free wifi, stayed here as part of a gate 1 tour, safe area to walk around in, this novotel was much nicer that others you may have stayed in that have the novotel brand
prime location and a very good hotel
had a stay of five nights in february for the first time in the novotel peace. the hotels location is perfect near forbidden city. a subway-station is nearby (about ten minutes by feet). my room (a corner room in 17th floor) was very spacious and furnished conveniently. breakfast and dinner in the executive lounge was very rich and tasty. the service staff was very friendly and always ready to help (would like to send special greets to anna and alica). i am sure that i will have further stays in the future in this hotel.
We stayed for 1 night. Paid a very reasonable price for a studio with a living room, bedroom and a big toilet. Very pleased with the cleanliness and the size of the room. We were also given complimentary Nespresso coffee. A plus point is the location. It is near Dengshikou Train Station and Wangfujing street. Numerous eatery and shops nearby. Airport shuttle bus number 10 stops in front of the hotel thus making it very accessible.
Novotel Peace, Beijing - May 2019
We had a wonderful stay for 3 nights at Novotel Peace. Overall from booking, to checking, check out everything went smoothly, no issues at all. I stayed with family (2 Adults + 2 kids) and they gave us 2 rooms interconnected as promised. The location of room was great, giving excellent views. Rooms were big, clean, daily house keeping was spot on no complaints. The breakfast was great giving many choices and food quality was fantastic. The location of Hotel is excellent, close to city centre but not in city centre you have some quietness. It's close to Subway, which was great.
The highlight for me was the service, especially Tony from concierge, fantastic individual who looked after us right from our check-in. He gave us all the valuable information about travelling around (as we didn't book any tours), maps tips, information around where we can find restaurant etc he was just too good. We even booked a private car for day hire through him for visiting Great Wall and the car & driver assigned on the day was excellent, very re-assuring.
I would strongly recommend this hotel over all and thanks to Novotel team for looking after us so well.
very nice stay and very nice hotel
got upgraded to a suite with fantastic view over the Legendale hotel.
the lounge is perfect for seeing half of the city.
staff very nice especially blair Xu.
the food during the happy hour was very nice as well
Very convenient to everything and very secure
There are many hotels in Wangfujing and many are expensive, however, the Novotel Peace is in there with the best of them and not too expensive. We hit it lucky in as far as we scored a suite, I have no idea why but it was a welcome bonus. The Novotel Peace is a very big multi storey hotel and they also have an annexe that sits at the back of the car park and that is where we were located. We noticed during our four day stay that many uniformed Police stayed at this hotel so maybe this is favoured by the Government for it's convenient location, it certainly provided added security for us. Anyhow, the Novotel Peace is located very close (200 metres) to Wangfujing shopping precinct and a short and flat walk to the Forbidden City. There are two metro stations close by. As stated, we had a suite which consisted of a lounge, bedroom and bathroom and comfortably fitted out with all the usual things one expects in a quality hotel, having a flat screen T.V. in the lounge and also the bedroom was good if one wanted to watch different programmes at the same time. The bed was large and very comfortable and the blackout curtains ensured we had a good nights sleep although we had to set the alarm as you could easily sleep longer not knowing it was daylight outside. An added nice touch was having a pod style coffee machine instead of those horrible instant coffee sachets. The reception and concierge staff were good and their English is also good so communication is not a problem. There is a selection of eating places in the hotel from a relaxed lounge style cafe in the foyer area to a bistro and a restaurant. Also, there is a swimming pool and a fitness room. The swimming pool is nicely presented with lounge chairs surrounding the pool, and a water feature at one end. Please note, it is a requirement to wear a bathing cap when using the pool, this applies to both male and female and there are security cameras in the pool area, as stated this is a secure hotel to stay in - typical of Beijing. I would be very happy to stay here again.
King Business suite - pure Leisure
We stayed here as part of a package tour (Odynovo) and the hotel upgraded us from a King room as we were three in a room.
The King business suite was 2 rooms - one the bedroom with a King bed and the other the business/lounge with desk, sofa etc, table, chairs etc..
Stacks of room, very luxurious.
Buffet breakfast was first class, plenty of variety and really good quality.
Great place to stay in Beijing
Stayed in one of the premier suites at this hotel as a family. Very large room and a lounge area both with great views. The bathroom was quite large too but a little out dated.
The desk staff at level 19 (Annie and Kathy I believe) were very helpful and made our stay enjoyable. Happy hour was appreciated well, served by great staff, clean environment and a nice view of the city.
Location is perfect as it is very close to the shops, subway station and bank that open on Sundays as well if you need to change currency.
Breakfast was sumptuous as it offers variety of food and beverages.
The spa facility and the pool were okay, but the showers in the fitness centre needs attention.
Overall, I would definitely stay again if stopping in Beijing.
We stayed at Novotel Beijing Peace and it was awesome. The rooms were great. The staff was so helpful and welcoming. As a platinum member we were able to check in and out at the Lounge for ease and comfort. The staff at the lounge (especially Anna, Blair, Mary & Azko) was extremely helpful. They went far and beyond in assisting us, from finding directions around Beijing to shopping and more. We can’t thank them enough for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable. We highly recommend this place. Not only for the wonderful staff but also for it’s perfect location to shops, the subway and major attractions like Forbidden City/Tiamen Square and Museum.
A Great Hotel
A good hotel in the Beijing downtown near the Wang fu jing street . Airport bus stop in front of hotel . it's amazing .You get money worth. Room 's clean and fresh . Food's o.k . near Beijing APM mall shopping inside lots of fine food restaurants . you can take the bus or metro near the hotel . it's convenient to visit the local place since this hotel is in the good location with the good price including breakfast .
Beijing: 1st leg of two week trip
Stayed at Novotel for 4 days (checking out today) as we head to our next destination.
The hotel sits centrally locating in a very upscale location within Beijing. Overall the staff are very friendly, the rooms are spacious and clean (had a king sized bed), the rooms offer all the standard amenities: WiFi, coffeemaker, room fridge, safe, flat screen tv, western toiletries, etc.
The breakfast buffet (included in our rate) has a great and full variety of American, European, and Asian fares. No continental breakfast here!
You can have eggs any style you want (fried, scrambled, omelette, boiled). Coffee & Juice selection is full with American, Expresso, Lattes, Capuchino, OJ, Apple, Grapefruit, etc.
The rooms are spacious and clean, normal wear, however the hotel has embarked in a big renovation project and you can see it. Our room had a new and clean carpet - I’ve seen way dirtier and stained in the states.
The location as mentioned is a good central base for any sightseeing and tours. There are numerous banks and ATM less than 5 minutes walking (some literally just by crossing the street).
Within the same block on the same side of the street, there is a small “liquor store” where you can buy water, alcohol, cigarettes, snacks, etc.
There is also a small stand for tour operators where you can inquire about tours if you do not want to use the concierge service from the hotel. We didn’t as our trip was arranged in advanced with Odynovo Tours.
Overall a great stay and will definitely recommend and come back next time we’re in Beijing!
nice hotel to visit
the hotel has a very good location, close to the main touristic attractions . the underground station is in close reach. although the hotel is not new the rooms are well maintained and clean.
the executive lounge is well attended by Alicia and Echo which are very proffessional and attentive. the keep a good atmosphere in the lounge and the quality and variety of food is goog
Best Value Near Forbidden City
Great location - value combo. Surrounded by Regent, Waldorf, and Peninsula - its the clear value choice. Stay in the tower. The Premier floor is an excellent value for the evening happy hours. You can easily make a meal out of it.
The hotel’s location is strategic, near to subway stations, shopping malls, restaurants and tourist attractions. The service of the front desk personnels is excellent, considerate and helpful. The room we got is comfortable. We had a pleasant stay here, thank you.
Great location, walking distance to wangfujing, Dengshikou station line 5; very convenience to go everywhere, the room also big enough for 2 luggages. Very recommended if you want to explore beijing..........you can also get a shuttle bus to airport with the cost of CNY 25 perperson every one hour just right infront of the hotel, very convenience
We were picked up at Beijing Airport perfectly on time by SI SI, our tour guide for the next 3 days. Our tour was very informative and truly gave us a very knowledgeable history of our great ancestral country. Every need was met and I would recommend SI SI and the ORDNOVO TOUR GUIDE AGENCY for all trips. The cost of the private tour was not extravagant and with the fabulous hotels, well worth the cost. My email communications with MR. TOM ZHOU was extremely helpful in customizing our trip of a lifetime. The company and all of its employees would all be given 5 STAR (10 STAR IF AVAILABLE) and I have traveled the world without getting such excellent service. thanks again for a memorable and pleasant experience..KITTY AND ALLEN L of New Jersey.
Surprisingly nice hotel in China
We were on a cruise ship and left it to take a five day tour of China. We stayed in the Novotel Beijing Peace hotel for two nights during the trip. Prior to our stay there I had no idea what to expect. What I got was a very modern, clean, well equipped room in a newish hotel.
It's easy to experience staycations in a city the size of Beijing. Some of my family was in town for a "stopover" and I decided to stay at the hotel closer to them. Novotel is a go to for international hotel chains and it doesn't disappoint.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Everyone I spoke to was helpful and spoke good English, so no stresses about communication. I will shout out the gentleman who bought my early morning room service this morning as I was rushing back to work. 5am he was there with a smile and made my morning.
The room; I stayed in a basic room and it was spacious and clean. The black out curtains were amazing, and I was high up enough that any morning or evening traffic didn't disturb me. I like that the hotel uses fair trade bathroom products; that gets a big tick of approval from me.
The hotel itself is neat and tidy. The amenities - the pools and fitness centre are decently sized and clean. The buffet breakfast at the hotel was worth it. Well priced and the dishes had a good range of Chinese and Western. I'm a fan of the deep friend pancakes dipped in coffee...it's a good start to the day; trust me.
The hotel is close to tourist attractions in the Wangfujing area, shopping and eateries "down the street" - about 5 minutes walk. Tiananmen Square is about a 15-20min walk from the hotel and easy to reach (don't forget your passport) and from there the Forbidden City is another 10mins. There are three subway stations (National Art Museum, Dengshikou & Wangfujing) about a 10min walk from the hotel. And I will point out these are super close by Beijing standards.
All and all; it's a good location with helpful staff and decent amenities.
Lovely Hotel Close to Many Attractions
It was our first visit to China and we stay at the club room .. and had awesome experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Simply cannot fault anything. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Beijing.
Good location, easily reached by subway. Only minutes away from major attractions. Lots of eateries around. Hotel is good, comfortable room but a little dated. Club lounge is good. Staff pleasant and helpful. Wonderful stay.
In the heart of Beijing!
What a great location in Beijing. Right in the heart of Beijing and access to the Forbidden City and all that Beijing has to offer. Great shopping, many transportation options, and many places to enjoy the great food of China.
We arrived at 4am and were greeted by friendly staff, who were very helpful and accommodating. When we got to our room we realised that the king bed we were meant to have was indeed 2 singles. We were that tired we didn't care. The next day we asked for anther room and were told no problems. We finally were moved but the next room didn't have a working safe, so we asked to be moved again.
The breakfast was great, the staff were very helpful. All in all a fantastic hotel would definitely go there again.
Good standard room with a super king size bed.
This high standard hotel is in a very central position to visit the main shopping centre with all the big name brands, not too far from Tian'anmen Square and the Forbidden City.
Our guide Lily from Odynovo was first class we were met at the airport and our driver was always available to take us to each of the main sights.
Great rooms, comfy beds, best variety of buffet breakfast that we had on our trip in China on 8 cities. It was centrally located and easy to get to and from. Surrounded by great restaurants, and close to food street.
My First Hotel in China
This was my first stop during a twelve day tour in China. We arrived in the early evening due to other people on the tour. I spent three nights at this very nice hotel. The area around the hotel has many high end shops. Due to the tour schedule and my bank account, I did not patronize any of them. The hotel is a bit on the older size, but the lobby was very beautiful. There is a good lounge on one side, which made a great gathering place when we had a few minutes of spare time. There is at least one restaurant in the hotel. We had the buffet breakfast every morning and everyone seemed to be able to find enough to satisfy them. There is also a marketplace within a block. It’s fifth and sixth floors are dedicated to restaurants. You can feel very safe walking there at night. My room was large with a king sized bed, loveseat, desk, chair and fairly large bathroom. The bathroom had a soaking tub/shower,plenty of clean towels and toiletries. The bed was very comfortable and I had no problem sleeping. My only complaint/problem with the room was it seemed a bit dark. But remember, I was on a tour and didn’t spend many waking hours in the room. Didn’t have time for the pool or fitness room, but I would suggest, many hotels in China require bathing caps in the pools, (I packed one of my grandson’s) because I have YMCA swimmers. Our group always took a bus to the many attractions in and around Beijing, but I believe it is easy walking to many of them. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel in Beijing!
Excellent hotel in heart of Beijing
I have just returned from a 5 night stay in Beijing at the Novotel Beijing Peace. As a first timer in Beijing I highly recommend this hotel for the great stay in a great location.
The hotel check in was quick and easy, the lobby was a high standard. The staff at check in were really friendly and helpful and answered any questions we had.
The room itself was great, very large and had all the amenities I required. The beds were very comfortable and the room was kept to a high standard. The bathroom was clean and had a bathtub which was good. The room did smell of cigarettes despite it being a non-smoking floor but this may have been a recent change. It did not bother me or affect my trip.
The breakfast buffet was good and catered for western and asian taste. There was a lot on offer and the staff provided a good service. The food was of good quality.
The location of the hotel was great, it was a 5 minute walk to the bustling Wangfujing shopping street, which has tons of shopping and food options. It was super convenient to get around Beijing from the hotel as the subway was only a 5-8 minute walk to Dengshikou station. It only took 10-20 minutes to reach all the sightseeing I wanted to do and I walked to the forbidden city.
Overall I had a great stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend, especially international travellers who have never been to Beijing before.
Convincing to return!
Our room was kindly upgraded by the hotel to the Deluxe room. The room was very comfortable, clean and spotless. A good size bathroom and bathtub. It was on high floors so quite enough to have a good rests after sightseeing.
The buffet breakfast offers a broad range of Asian and western meals. We had a lunch in the hotel and enjoyed the food. The facilities were up-to-date, the gym was well-equipped and the pool had reasonable size for leisure.
From bell-boy to guest relation manager, the staff were very professional and responsive. My wife was surprised by a cake in the room on her birthday-thanks to their concern.
The location was also great.10 minutes walk to the centre of nightlife in Wangfujing Street. A couple of banks with 24hrs ATMs right across the street.
To be honest I am not sure if I re-visit Beijing in the future; but if I return, I will certainly book this hotel again.
China with wendy woo
China was an amazing place still coping with the open door policy it's all steam ahead, The Novotel Beijing is on par with any other hotel I have stayed within the world, Its class on a grand luxury the hotel is so clean, and the staff so helpful you can't fault this place the food is divine
Great Centrally Located Affordable Hotel
Novotel Peace Hotel is really centrally located. It's about 1.5 miles/2.4 Km to Tiananmen Square and the south entrance to the Forbidden City. There are a dozen restaurants within walking distance for experiencing roast duck. There is a restaurant next door to the hotel. I didn't try it so I can't comment. The staff is very accommodating and efficient. My room was large and comfortable. When I come back to Beijing I will use the Novotel Beijing as a base because is central an affordable. It is well within the 4th ring road for tour pickups.
Modern, clean cpnvenient hotel
This is a nice hotel on a main street in central Beijing that has many big hotels, banks and restaurants. The main pedestrian shopping street of Beijing is a few blocks away.
The hotel is clean and modern, the front desk staff is excellent and they spoke fluent English. The concierge wasn't quite as helpful.
We walked to many of the major sights from the Hotel, 15-20 minutes to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. There is also a metro station a couple of blocks away that can get you on your way to anywhwere in Beijing.
I would stay here again.
Excellent location and value for money, great team / views in lounge
Got a great rate direct with Accor for Executive Room with lounge access. Room was actually a premier room in the end but it was still very nice, tidy and a decent size. Location of the hotel is 5 mins walk to underground and 15 mins walking to the Forbidden City, excellent result oh and right in the middle of the shopping area.
The best part for sure was the executive lounge with amazing staff who are so helpful and friendly. The food on offer was nice and a fab bar also.
The views over the Forbidden City and sunset at night really made it special as did Echo Hu whomwas so helpful and a joy to talk with.
I have stayed in a number of hotels in this area and this is by far the overall best all rounder.
Thanks team for a wonderful stay
A Fantastic Hotel - great value for money.
I stayed for a week in this hotel with my family in June 2019.
Its a wonderful hotel and great value for your wallet. The cleanliness is impeccable. The rooms are very well done and creatively thought through. We stayed in a suite that came at a great price since we are Accor Platinum members.
The location is fantastic - just across from Wangfujing.
The staff is great. Extremely friendly and informative. They saved a lot of our time and energy.
Particular people I would like to name for their exceptional service during our stay.
* Blair, Anna and Mary at the Executive Lounge
* Maggie - the supervisor at the reception
We are a couple who stayed here for 6 nights, from 21-27 October. We loved it: it is a comfortable hotel, with a classy lobby, and well located.
Located in Wangfujing, we walked to the Forbidden City and the National Museum, and caught the subway to other places. A subway station is just around the corner, 3-4 minutes walk away. A main shopping area is two blocks away, albeit upmarket.
Our room was nice, though compact. The basin in the bathroom was first rate: the hot water tap gave water which was seriously hot, and when plugged the basin did not empty any water (many hotels have basins which require regular refilling with water when shaving or washing clothes).
The hotel breakfast is good, but no bananas 😀
