My husband and I just returned from an incredible stay at the Rosewood. Despite a few service hiccups at the beach (waited some time one day for towels and water), incredible and amiable service from Nacho (a real gem) and our friendly butler Jamie more than made up for it. The litmus test for a five star hotel is a property that seems to anticipate one's needs before they are needed. It is safe to say that the aloe gel appearing in our room one day, a cheese plate arriving on another, and even a "make your own root beer float" amenity not only anticipated our needs before we thought of them. They surpassed the test by making them personal to us! Other personal touches included meeting chefs at dinner who made custom tastings and proper turndowns (replete with folded clothes and bed mats).
As a note, we were upgraded to a lovely over-water lagoon suite. We liked it better than the original room we booked in the beach area since we didn't have neighbors sharing a wall with us or on top of us. We saw some other over-water lagoon suites that seem to have had views into other rooms. Hence, if privacy is important, you might want to make specific room requests.
We can't wait to come back!
My wife and I spent an incredible four days at this resort. Great people, great service! The beaches were wonderful, food was fresh and delicious!
We were taxied by golf carts or boats to many restaurants within the complex. Also took an excellent tour of the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza.
Our villa included a plunge pool, also a private outdoor shower. The birds are abundant and beautiful!
We will gladly return to this paradise!
Five Times Here....Five Times Perfection!
Vicky and I are just now returning from our amazing and wonderful fifth vacation (second this year) at the Rosewood Mayakoba. By now, you might think things would begin to look the same and maybe a little stale. But this NEVER happens at this amazing resort, which is our most special place to go in the whole world!
The facility is beyond description....so gorgeous and well maintained it is impossible to put into words. But it is the people who make this incredible place so unlike ANYWHERE else! As has been written elsewhere, if you want to know what it's like to be treated as royalty, this is the place for you. The most incredible of all is Daniel at AMQ. I don't know how he does what he does but he is always checking on you and making sure everything is "perfecto" with you. Daniel is the best there is anywhere and my wife and I love him! We already miss him! His helper, Fabian, is learning from the best and it shows. Fabian is new but you can see he has what it takes to be special there. We look forward to seeing him again!
Other people who definitely deserve mention are Nacho in customer service (always a smile no matter how late he stays up at La Ceiba), Ernesto at Agave Azul (quiet but so kind and thoughtful) Rafael (Raffa) in watersports. Raffa is one of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. Have him take you out on the Hobie Cat and you will see. I will miss swimming at the same time with him in the mornings!
Last but certainly not least, thank you to Maria Jose, who runs this "best of the best" resort. It is because of her all of the above can be written and experienced.
Vicky and I will miss all of you but we will be back soon! Thank you for another amazing time in our Mexican home.
Christopher (Kit )& Vicky Baker
Top 5 resorts I have ever been too. Place is amazing. Attention to detail. Food was great. Staff was great. They were great with kids. The rooms are very nice and very clean. I would highly recommend this resort.
Wonderful, Top-Tier Service as Always
I have visited Rosewood Mayakoba one year ago, and ever since I left I have been dreaming about returning. This year was no different. I treated my mom on a short trip for her 55th birthday, and the attention and personalized service we received was so incredible. From the moment we arrived, our driver Rodrigo was so gracious and greeted myself and my mother with the most warm and welcoming demeanor. He was absolutely fantastic and he truly enhanced the already wonderful arrival experience for us. Once we arrived and throughout our stay, our butler Gaby (whom we actually found out was fairly new to the team) was absolutely phenomenal. From the moment we stepped out of ourt suite, Gaby was always there at our service, ready to assist with a smile on her face. She was so pleasant to speak with always and she took extra care to ensure we were taken care of. I could have never guessed she was one of the newer butlers; I hope whomever she reports to sees this review and that they know she is such an asset to the Rosewood Mayakoba team. Every single person we came across greeted us with a smile on their face and were always ready to assist. One day when we were at the beach all day, Isais in housekeeping had left a kind note with aloe vera gel. I cannot express enough how much time and effort these employees take to ensure a personalized experience. On another note, definitely take a trip to the spa and enjoy as many dining outlets as you can. Every detail and every person is absolutely fabulous and top notch in every single way. Thank you to the team at Rosewood Mayakoba for creating an unforgettable experience for my mother’s birthday. It always difficult to leave - already planning my next visit!
Magical experiences and 5 Diamond service
This is hands down the best resort in the world that I have ever been to. I've traveled to dozens of countries and tried many Rosewood, Four Season and other high end properties and this is the top one. We opted for them to give us a ride back and forth from the airport and the magic starts then. Caesar met us just outside the airport and whisked us over to our brand new Escalade where Aaron was waiting with doors open and cold towels, cold water and cold coronita's waiting inside. The drive was 40 Minutes and the Amazing Aaron even stopped to let us pick up some snacks, and some other room munchies. It was election day so we couldn't buy any beer or tequila, but that was OK because Aaron treated us like family members taking care of us. I can't even explain how special it was the "above and beyond" service he enjoyed providing. Thank you Aaron!
Arriving at the resort, we were greeted by several of our friends (staff members) who felt more like family members as this was our 10th time coming to this resort over the last 10 years. Jose Maria and Christian greeted us with open arms and a cool refreshing drink. It's like seeing old friends and after a quick catch up on the last year, we jumped in the little boat that took us to our suite.
There is art, wildlife and beauty everywhere on the grounds of this large resort. The trees, walkways and grass are all meticulously manicured. Our room was immaculately cleaned and there was a beautiful welcome amenity of a Oaxacan Mezcal that was delicious and refreshing. As repeat guest, I can tell you that every time we come, the welcome gifts and amenities surprise us and keep getting better. The housekeeping staff remembered requests we had made in previous years and we had fresh half and half for the coffee, limes to cut up for beers and a fresh fruit bowl with peaches, nectarines and banana's that was refreshed twice daily. Our main housekeeper Dorian kept the room in perfect condition and even left me some sun balm one day when I got a little too much sun.
Our butlers, Yes 2 butlers, were available for any special needs and both Jaime and Ivan spoiled us with attention, even though we really didn't need much from them. They checked in every day and made sure we had reservations and everything else we needed.
We went to the beach and pool area every day and planted ourselves in the sand right by their "food truck" in the Aqui Me Quedo area of the resort. Diego the manager stopped by to say hi as we knew him over the last three years as our server but he recently got promoted within the resort. Our new server named Luis was the absolute best. He didn't bother us but instead anticipated when we would need something and just magically showed up. We always had cold water and ice buckets and when we would order food he made recommendations and after the first day he remembered that I like a particular black ash habanero sauce and I never had to ask again, it was always on our chips and salsa platter. On the last day he spoiled me with some roasted Havana peppers (hotter than Habanero) with our fish tacos. So awesome. We were also spoiled by a new amenity ever few hours, like ceviche, sunglass cleaning and even the new Coconut O'clock where they give everyone a fresh cut coconut filled with coconut water. they added rum to mine too, very fun.
They have a new bar experience called Zapote Bar, just voted one of the top 50 bars in North America, where we ate dinner one night and met our new most favorite server Fernando. The cool thing was that when we went back a couple of days later, Fernando saw us and said he would take care of us, wherever we sat. We grabbed a spot at the bar and were joined be some friends we had met years ago at the same resort. We were spoiled even more by the resort director, Mr. Daniel Scott, who checked in on us and then stayed with us through happy hour. Then they announced the bar had just won the top 11 spot on the list and everyone cheered and we all had a complimentary shot of Mezcal. It was like we were part of the family!
There were so many more awesome people we met and spent time with. I wish I could list them all but I'm out of room! I must say though that the guest relations people, Nacho and Sylvia were also regularly checking in with us to make sure we had everything we needed.
Mr. Scott has created an amazing family like resort that welcomes you in like part of their family. I think you really need to just slow down while you are there and talk to the amazing staff when you can, they make you feel good inside and out. We're definitely going back many more times, and have already booked our next week there in November for Dia De Los Muertos. Muchos Gracias to everyone who made our week there so special.
A PERFECT SUMMER HOLIDAY
If you're reading this I hope in a few short sentence I'm able to convince to absolutely choose the Rosewood Mayakoba for your next holiday destination! The resort delivers on every aspect that one desires in a holiday - amazing facilities, great kind friendly staff, beautiful beach, safe and clean environment. It really is a piece of paradise. They've gone above and beyond to really curate a phenomenal experience for their guest. We stayed here for nights and wish we could stay longer. Amazing restaurant and food! The beach is so clean, which says a lot cause seaweed is a problem in most places. So many activities are available to guest in and out of the villa with a great service provider - shout to Anna! You will really enjoy Playa del Carmen and what other area you visit around the resort. Everyone on the property is really friendly and will always have a smile on their face. Thanks to everyone at the Rosewood for a truly wonderful holiday!
A magical place
We've been to Rosewood Mayakoba several times and they never fail to impress us. Their service is just impeccable. Food quality is fantastic, and we always feel every penny we pay is absolutely worth it. Keep up the good job!
Our go-to spot for a luxurious getaway
The Rosewood Mayakoba consistently delivers a level of service that delights and surprises. On our second trip to the property, we brought our three young sons (BOLD). At every turn there was something to entertain and engage the children while mom and dad got to enjoy the luxurious atmosphere. Mariajose and her team at the Rosewood Mayakoba go out of their way to make your stay a great experience whether it's an Adults only or Family trip. Highly recommend!
The Rosewood Mayakoba is my favorite hotel in the world. And on a recent visit, they made sure they would never be knocked off that top perch. It was my birthday and the staff went all out to ensure that my friends and I would have a great time. And despite providing a feeling of total care, they never intruded on our peace.
Best service I have experienced at a resort
This hotel provides a luxury experience from the moment you exit the airport until you enter the security line at the airport at departure. Our airport guide even advised us on which security line was moving fastest that day. Every detail of this place is well thought out. Our room was lovely and large enough for our family. I believe all the rooms are large so you cannot go wrong. The plunge pool that each room has is such a nice bonus. The facilities are well kept and the boat ride to your room upon arrival is charming (similar to four seasons bora bora). However, many hotels have nice rooms and amenities, what sets this property apart is the service. We have been lucky enough to visit many fine hotels and resorts around the world and this hotel has the best service we have ever experienced. Each room has a butter, and our butter Marimar, took great care of us. She ensued all our needs were met (and exceeded). This hotel seems to have a unique approach to staff and treat the staff like family and this in turns lead the staff to take great pride at excelling at their work. You could tell the employees were passionate about doing a good job. It was a novel experience. There are also tons of thoughtful touches like providing us with monogrammed pillowcases, post-sun lotion, welcome drinks and snacks and toys for our children. Each day a new surprise awaited us in our room. I also thought the food was good and there were many restaurants to chose from both at the Rosewood and the three other hotels in the Mayakoa secure complex. They also had a nice kids club and can arrange babysitting services. The babysitter was so nice my kids asked if she could come back every night.
You will not believe how amazing this paradise is!!!
This was my family’s sixth time to go to the Rosewood Mayakoba. We have been going back year after year because of the impeccable service, the friendly staff, the beautiful amenities, and the kindness that exudes from every single person there. We love Alberto and Miramar! They are the most fabulous butlers. You would have no idea how many other families they take care. They make you feel as if you are the only one!!Each room is like your own personal house. No matter where you stay you are treated as a VIP guest. Our children love going to the Rosewood Mayakoba because everyone knows their names and makes them feel so important. The food is above and beyond! There is something for everyone. From The fabulous drinks at at Zapato or the fresh sushi at Agave Azul. Spend a night on the beach at the beach fest!! The resort manager, Maria Jose knows every single person on property! And Jose Maria will make you feel right at home!! This is a place that is very special. We can’t wait to head back.
The Rosewood Mayakoba is singularly one of the most exquisite and comprehensive properties I've ever visited. Every detail is considered to ensure your stay is fantastic...the food, service, and beauty of the property are all magnificent. A week at this property is a reset of all your senses...you know true perfection when that week is complete. We're already planning our next visit; it can't come too soon!
There is a reason that this is a top resort in the world!
Such a unique place in a special setting! We were wowed from the moment we stepped foot onto the resort and traveled to our bungalow down the picturesque lagoon… we saw adorable turtles and heard beautiful birds calling - it’s almost easy to forget how close the ocean is and all of the beauty that goes along with the beach, when surrounded by such a lush jungle environment; truly the best of all worlds when it comes to grounds of this resort! Colorful & fragrant flowers, natural stone, gorgeous architecture and an overall design aesthetic that is cohesive, natural, clean and beautiful. This was my third time visiting and I will be returning many more times! In addition to the beautiful surroundings - the service is bar none! The staff not only anticipate every one of your needs, but they do an amazing job at anticipating your wants, as well (with small touches like placing a cool bookmark in the books you leave out or leaving a lens cloth by your sunglasses)! Communicating with your butlers via the app was easy and they always met us during the day to check in. The food is perfectly plated and incredibly delicious and we felt educated about the origins of each item. La Ceiba was especially fantastic and definitely an ‘experience’, not simply a meal. I will truly remember that night as one of the best meals of my life and a very special evening - definitely worth the price!
We stayed in a beachfront suite with direct ocean access. The property is expansive and provides each guest with a personal bicycle and has cart shuttles available for getting around. After check in you are taken by boat across the resort lagoon to your room.
Worth the price
Post Covid most places have continued to use it as an excuse to be sloppy. But Rosewood Mayakoba was amazing. The staff was extremely friendly, respectful and efficient. Any staff member walking by would make it a point to stop and ask if we needed anything. Beach service was top notch, every 20 mins or so someone would check on us for food/drinks, even at the private beach area by our suite. One recommendation from me would be to include a breakfast buffet at this price point. Excellent experience overall.
The attention to every detail at this property is remarkable. I have also traveled all over the world and have been fortunate enough to stay at some of the worlds best resorts and I have to say that the Rosewood Mayakoba property is among the very best. The staff puts in every effort to make you feel at home. The amenities are plentiful and the thoughtfulness they put into taking care of and anticipating your every need is remarkable. Please share our deepest thanks with the staff.
A magical stay!
They made my mom’s birthday celebration one to remember. If you are looking for a resort that excels in customer service and attention to detail, this is your spot! I highly recommend taking advantage of their specialty dinners and arranging those ahead of time. La Ceiba in the garden was truly magical!
2nd Stay - 2nd consecutive year returning!!
The service we received was exceptional. It was my 2nd time back to RWMayakoba and this time I brought the entire family. It was the first time experience for my parents and sister. Edgar @ La Fondita was so friendly, introduced the staff & gave us a warm welcome. Miguel at SENSE SPA was exceptional, the best massage experience I have ever had. He was intuitive and listened. Maria Jose was such a pleasure to dine w/ @ La Ceiba and she is a lovely person. Jose Maria was very attentive to my sister's needs who is in a wheelchair so accessibility was a big item of concern for us but he was on top of it from the moment of our arrival! He provided a cup holder, had a chair set up for our dinner @ La Ceiba and was overall extremely helpful. Eduardo is always such a pleasure, I met him with my brother last year and it was great to see him at Aqui me Quedo. Rafa provided us with exceptional service during our dining at Aqui me Quedo/ Punta Bonita & Silvia who spoke at La Ceiba dinner was so friendly, funny and an absolute pleasure. It was a truly unforgettable experience. They made us feel like family.
Amazing resort and best vacation
This hotel is truly five stars. Everything from start to finish was perfect. We got the private transfer from the airport, and when we walked out of the airport a man with a sign for Rosewood was standing right there and brought us to the car. The car had water, beer and some candy and wifi. After the easy 45 minute drive, when we arrived at the hotel, we were immediately brought to desks in the lobby to check in, which was fast and easy. We were introduced to our butler Saaid, who was wonderful (we also had Esau for part of the trip who was also amazing) and got lunch at Zapote Bar while we waited for our room to be ready.
After about an hour we we were ready to go to the room. They escort everyone to the room by boat which was really cool. We stayed in a wellness suite, which was huge with two floors. Everything was beautiful. You first walk up through your dock and onto a deck with a plunge pool, then enter to the first floor where there is a long table and a couch and a bathroom. Upstairs is the bedroom and another huge bathroom and another private outdoor area. They also have these pods for aromatherapy in the shower which were pretty cool. It was also right near the spa and was easily walking distance to the main lobby and restaurants.
For dinner, Agave Azul is delicious sushi and Casa del Lago is great for breakfast. Every restaurant we went to was very lenient with accommodations also, which was great because I'm a picky eater. I didn't have a hard time anywhere and every single person who works at the resort is extremely nice. One night we ordered room service which was also delicious and easy. You order through the app, and the delivery person set everything up and then came back an hour later and cleaned everything up. We also ate at restaurants at the Banyan Tree two nights (Cello and Saffron). The hotel arranged the boat to take us to the Banyan Tree for both nights and the boat ride at sunset really was amazing. Cello was my favorite meal there.
During the day, we primarily went to the Aqui me Quedo pool, which is adults only. We did take a golf cart here mostly, but I did walk a couple times. We also ate at the restaurant by the family pool, which was good. If you are visiting with no kids, the Aqui me Quedo pool was a great place to spend the day. The service is amazing. People ask you if you need anything all day long. Daniel especially was great. Also (and this applies to all pools), right when you sit down, they bring you bottled water and a little evian spray bottle which is a nice touch. They also bring around free stuff randomly throughout the day, which was nice. Like some snacks or drinks, and on Saturday at 1 they have champagne o'clock and give everyone champagne. I spent some time at the main pool near the lobby area also, which is nice too.
The spa was also wonderful. I got a facial and a Itzam Herbal Cure treatment, both by Maria who was nice and skillful. Get to your spa appointment early so you can enjoy the sauna and jacuzzi. The spa facilities are beautiful. I also attended a meditation class one day which was a fun thing to do. The gym is also beautiful and very nice.
We also went to the town within Mayakoba one morning, which was fun. We walked there but took a golf cart home. The golf carts are readily accessible all the time and anytime we had to get somewhere, someone was around to call a golf cart. We maybe had to wait a minute at most. We also did the taco making class at the ceiba garden, which was pretty fun.
The service really sets this place apart. Everything was seamless. You could text your butler on the app anything, and it was set up immediately. The first night we were leaving the hotel to Banyan tree, I was wondering how we would get to dinner and before I was even able to ask anyone, I got a text in the app saying the boat would pick us up at 7:30. They help you before you even realize you need help. Another night, we cancelled dinner and decided to stay in and order room service last minute and we were able to cancel so easily and everyone was super nice about it. From the waiters, to the spa, to the house keeping to the front desk, to the people at the pool and especially the butlers, I don't have a single complaint about any person I interacted with.
Overall, this hotel is the best service I've ever experienced, every single thing was perfect. The food was great, the pools and beach were great and everything was beautiful. We can't wait to go back!
Nothing is perfect but the Rosewood is close
We had no idea what to expect from Mexico it being a last minute decision to visit. And - well - we were blown away.
The Rosewood is a stunning resort. The staff are beyond delightful - literally all of them so clever and thoughtful and on the ball. A comfort blanket is wrapped around you on arrival and when you leave you feel a little bereft. What? I have to make my own decisions?
We had booked for a week and then three nights in another resort. We would have preferred 5+5 but due to rates and availability didn’t have the choice. With hindsight we are thankful and wish we’d stayed 10 days here.
When booking we would have preferred to go to the other resort first as we knew the Rosewood was likely to be superior and we were right. If you are going to more than one venue I suggest you go here last.
We did get a little jaded with food by day 6 – but that is us – we are picky eaters. We also found it mind bogglingly expensive but we knew that.
Only a couple of improvements. If your ‘do not disturb’ sign has two different sides – one sleeping and one at the beach I think it is a fair assumption that one side says the room is available and the other not. Not so – both meant do not disturb. It took a couple of days to clarify this – would suggest a clearer system.
Loose tea should not be served in a cafetiere. And the water should be boiling.
If I was to criticise anything breakfast was a bit meh but more than adequate.
We will be back …
I don’t even know where to start - everything was so incredible! The moment we arrived we felt like we were at home. Once everything was complete at the reception desk we were taken by boat to our Villa which was such a lovely experience!
Accommodation: We booked the Rooftop Ocean View Suite and my goodness, it was worth it. The interior design is spot on and there is so much living space both inside and out.
Food: Every meal was incredible. Highly recommend the Yucatan Poached Eggs at breakfast and Shrimp “TJ” Style Tacos at Aqui Me Quedo down by the beach.
Pools: Very well kept and clean. We only used the pools in the adult section along with our own pool and loved both.
Beach: Beautiful. A bit of seaweed but nothing worth fussing over. They do a great job at keeping the beach clean.
For the kiddos: While we decided to be selfish and leave our kids at home we could very quickly see that the Rosewood is a fantastic place for kids of all ages.
Spa: The spa was an unexpected surprise. As guests of the hotel, you have complimentary access to the steam shower, sauna, cold plunge pool, relaxation pool and outdoor pool at the spa. The spa team goes above and beyond to ensure the experience is most enjoyable. I cannot recommend trying this experience out at least once during your stay.
Butler(s): We will forever be grateful for Gabriel, Johana and Gabriela who were always there to ensure we had what we needed. We loved running into them during the day and chatting together and truly look forward to seeing them again. An extra thank you to Gabriel who knew we were celebrating just getting engaged and left a lovely amenity and card in our room!
We would both highly recommend staying at Rosewood and are already planning our second trip back!
Mayakoba Raises The Bar for Luxury Resorts
This was our second trip this year, with next year's trip already booked. Each time we visit the resort gets better which is no small feat. Every aspect is exceptional (service, amenities, food) but its the employees that separates this resort from others. They really do make you feel like family. It is expensive, but you get what you pay for and won't be disappointed.
Omg book now
I loved grand velas book now!! Best part was my butler Jerinimo was amazing !! He made sure everything was perfectly set up and he’ll me schedule everything. Talk about above and beyond . He set my room up with balloons for my friend bday and he laid rose petals
Rosewood Mayakoba is a wonderful destination for family and couples. MariaJose serves as the GM and her staff is a testament to her leadership. You can see that they have a culture of taking care of their guests, no request is too large. The drinks are excellent, the kids club is really good for the little ones and the specially curated dinner specials are wonderful. We have stayed at other rosewood properties but this is by far our favorite.
You have truly considered everything necessary to your guests comfort. Your facilities are stunningly beautiful. The food in all the restaurants was excellent. Housekeeping and guests services were perfect. I could go on and on, but what really makes Rosewood Mayakoba a special place are the people who work there. Their concern for my family and kind treatment was sincere and greatly appreciated.
Where do I begin? We just got back from our very first stay at this incredible resort. The service is top notch! One night while taking a boat to Saffron my purse dumped out into the lagoon. The driver of the boat went back to Rosewood to get someone to dive down to get it. My phone sat on the bottom of the lagoon for 45 min and it still works! The next incredible gesture was when they hand delivered a new insulin pen for my husband since his sunk to the bottom of the lagoon as well. Now that is world class service!
I’d highly recommend the snorkel trip through the Mayakoba Dive Center. It’s only $79 usd and was amazing! We enjoyed the gym and spa facilities every day and had the best massages we’ve ever had.
I looked forward to returning to the room every night to smell the amazing oil that was diffusing. I loved it so much I bought some. The housekeepers were top notch and thought I’d everything including putting a book mark in my book.
The only negative thing I can say is that we were expecting turquoise water which is why we bit the bullet and paid much more for a beachfront suite. The seaweed has hit this area bad although they do a good job of trying to remove it every day.
Our butlers were amazing.. Daniel and Xanath
Sergio gave us amazing beach service
We can’t wait to go back to this world class resort!
Stellar Service, Beautiful Hotel, Excellent Food
We have been going to the Ritz Reserve at Dorado in Puerto Rico for beach trips for years and had always considered trying this Rosewood instead. So incredibly glad we did. Overall one of the best hotels we've ever been to and highly recommended. From the moment we arrived to departure, every element of our stay was perfect.
The service was stellar. Beyond expectations. From the butler service and being able to text any needs in the app to thoughtful and constant service on the beach, at the pool, in your room, etc. - all was amazing.
The property was vast and gorgeous and maintained impeccably. Beautiful beach and ocean. Staff were on the beach at sunrise cleaning and raking. Gardeners were taking care of every corner. They even walk around with falcons to keep away those annoying birds that seem to invade all other Caribbean properties.
All of the food was spectacular. There are a number of restaurants. The beach service, food and drinks were all fantastic.
Absolutely incredible hotel!
The hotel is very good . The people are nice and lovely . The servants, chefs. The rooms are excellent. Service is excellent as well . I really enjoyed staying in this hotel . I highly recommend it many thanks to all . Rodreck , remond chef , host . Many thanks
Excellent Rosewood Resort
I am currently on a family holiday visiting the Rosewood Mayakoba. I have travelled the world but the service at the Rosewood is by far the best resort I have stayed at. The staff are brilliant and helpful. Marc, Amber and Raul are brilliant and a great asset to the Resort. I will leave the resort with very happy memories
Our Favorite Rosewood
After a five year traveling hiatus, we decided on Rosewood Mayakoba as our first vacation. As we left the airport and saw the Rosewood Mayakoba sign waiting for us right outside the door, we were reassured we had made the right choice and reminded why we love Rosewood resorts. We’ve stayed at multiple Rosewoods and by the end of this trip, Rosewood Mayakoba became our new favorite. The service was the best we’ve ever received. Everyone in the property was extremely kind and attentive. We stayed in an overwater deluxe lagoon suite and it was perfection. Being from Florida, we see the beach often and so the view of the lagoon was something different and unique. The spa was gorgeous, albeit a little on the expensive side. But the walk through a lush jungle to get to your treatment room might make the price tag worth it! We were only there for two nights so we didn’t have much time but our message therapist mentioned they do private dinners in the cenote in the spa and that looked extremely romantic and peaceful. I hope to do it in one of our return visits. Truly, everything was absolutely perfect and I do not have one negative thing to say about the resort.
Mr Mathew with friends
Great experience in glo lounge and bar.... Service was excellent.we really enjoy the foods and drinks. Good job by waiters especially Emmanuel... Keep it up. Great job to the managers too for such a great atmosphere
If you want to know what it’s like to be treated like a celebrity then I suggest a stay at Rosewood Mayakoba. The service was impecable. The food was delicious and the views were unmatched. I highly recommend a stay!
Keeps getting better!
Ambar, Marc, Ana (butlers) Gustavo (spa attendant), Wilberth (waiter) The Housekeepers, Nacho, The entire Management Team (Daniel Scott, Jose Maria, etc) the drivers, the pool attendants, waiters and bartenders and all of the employees that I wasn't fortunate to meet/name are the absolute soul of this outstanding resort. The staff makes this resort. They all provide the highest level of service in the most beautiful setting-its simply paradise!
We were fortunate and grateful to be able to return for the fifth time to Rosewood Mayakoba. The resort is like a fine wine as it keeps getting better with age. All the restaurants are top notch as well. We could not recommend highly enough visiting this great resort. The only negative...having to leave! We hope to be back soon!
In awe of rosewood Mayakoba
The hospitality at RW Mayakoba is unmatched. I am in awe of the experience we just had. When you say "Welcome Home" upon arrival, it really is a better version of home... where friends serve you food and drinks and meet you at every need. The service at RW Mayakoba is 8 steps ahead of any need we would ever have. The facility is gorgeous, the activities a plenty, food is absolutely divine, the room plush. We will be forever spoiled after traveling to RW Mayakoba.
If you go, absolutely sign up for La Ceiba dinner!!! INCREDIBLE! We also enjoyed taking the RW boat to Banyan Trees Saffron. Breakfast each day is incredible!
Even if you are not getting a treatment, hit the spa. The routine there is so refreshing-- with salt scrub, frozen masks, fresh juice, the cold plunge. We tried to get by there every day!
We also enjoyed the hydrobike activity-- it was different and very fun!
We felt very safe going off property-- the Cenotes are incredibly cool. But, dont plan too many off property excursions because you will want to take part in every thing on property. Dont miss Champagne o'clock at 1:00 on saturday! Each day there is a new treat at the beach! This place is some kind of special!!!! I cannot wait to return and visit with all of the friends we made!

It's very hard to write a review, when all you have are great comments to share - where on earth to start??
Perhaps with the basics,
- Reviving the true meaning of hospitality and welcoming the guest as an external member of one's own family. 🙏🏼
This is very easily said, however a totally different story believing/living and most importantly, preaching it.
The minute we stepped into Rosewood Mayakoba Resort, each member of staff had a beaming light of joy & happiness shining from them. From the FOH to HSK to the wildlife attendees, and I was cycling alot back and forth! (Just for the hell of it)
They just simply wouldn't stop smiling at me / greeting me and making me feel wonderful! (and I can be v. moody!)
I am a huge fan of old school hospitality comrades, Cesar our Butler🎩/ Andres the Captain🚤.
What amazing spirits these men have. How does one find the stamina and patience to be so detailed when explaining the local river/animals in the forest/heritage/ the resort - just simply inspiring.
I had asked César a simple/minor question via the app, about one of the btl Mezcal left in our Suite and suddenly he was on his way to fix us a cocktail. (Anticipating the guests need before they actually realise they need it!) What a PRO!
Following morning I decided to hit the gym and go for a swim. Needless to say you will find what ones believes to find at a Billionaire's home - from the highest tech gadgets to fridges with refreshments, healthy snacks and cold towels everywhere.
So after the work out, I was guided by the lovely FOH team to the changing area so I could simply shower, then go for a swim. Boy was I mistaken when Alex received me on the other end and asked me to follow his guidance - Steam Room / Shower / Sauna / Cold plunge then Jacuzzi. Alex was there, every step of the way, bringing me home remedy oils, face masks, cold towels and the best of all, his company!
I completely forgot about my swimming and spent bloody 1h30min with there! (I nearly missed breakfast) But that was worth it because Alex took me through the RW journey and not because he had to, but because he wanted to! I'm not sure how many Ultra Luxury hotels are out there that will provide you with such dedicated und genuine associates...
But moving on,
We then meet Gabriel our second Butler🎩 throughout the stay. I said I love the old school comrades - but you got to have young blood in the team to bring a breath of fresh air and a touch of modern Sass! Gabriel was another beacon of joy. He organised our dinners/cars/taxi and attended to our every need. We even sat down together, the four of us and made him a list of documentaries to watch on netflix - as he seemed very interested in the Crown. (Netflix playing in background)
But Gabriel wasn't just listening, he also noticed I was waring a bracelet, a bracelet the was made in his home town, and I had just came from there. So he brought me a surprise the day after, and an even more beautiful bracelet than I was wearing! (And I'm still wearing Gabri's gift, I'll probably gift my old one to someone back in London lol)
Massive shout out to the main gentleman at the Marine - please forgive me, I did not catch his name.
But without us asking, he picked us up, on a 4 steater sailing boat, and took us out to go snorking - just like that. He could have just continued with his day peacefully on his own, but he still came out of his way!
On our final evening, we did get a little more than just sun kissed - more like lobsters 🦞🍅.
So lovely Deysi from HSK that attended to our turn downs decided to leave us a lovely hand written note, and home made Agave syrup gel, to help us look reasonable again.
Once again, there seems to be a pattern, associates going out of their way, to ensure we had everything we need. Receiving little surprise pleasures around each corner of the day.
Now I realise im sounding like the im boasting to much and perhaps even advertising a little because where are the negatives, there are always flaws and mistakes - we are human after all.
Here it comes,
The chips & bacon were way too salty - I ordered the burger from from the IRD menu via app!
And leaving out more mosquito plugs for the rooms. (But this could also be personal preference).
At the end of the day, I believe, it is not the amount of 5* reviews a resort gets, it's the quality of message that is left behind. Essays like mine, and from so many other guest are left because we are stunned, and feel that it is our duty to give back to the community and share what journey lies before them.
A magical one 🪄
God Bless & Viva Mexico
SERVICE, Service, and more service!
My wife and I traveled to the Rosewood Mayakoba to celebrate our 20th anniversary. From arrival to departure this resort does it right. We participated in all the wonderful experiences including the Mexican grill night, La Ceiba garden dinner and the Sabores de Baja night. All were fantastic. We also did a private boat dinner in the lagoon and that was magical. Bike riding around the property and around Maykoba was a delight. The property is gorgeous, the SPA is heavenly, and the staff were wonderful but what really sets the property apart from other top notch properties around the world is service (and the FOOD). It is genuine, it is abundantly available and as one of the managers said to a guest, "we always do the right thing".
We missed our flight on memorial day due to heavy rain, significant traffic and a delay with transportation and the representative at the airport made one call, took us to the next awaiting escalade and took us back to the resort as if we had newly arrived and offered us once again a beachfront suite COMPLIMENTARY as if we never left. The next day they took us back to the airport and helped us all the way until we reached security. We just loved this place! Thank you to all the staff, managers, butlers, beach attendants, spa staff... etc... 5 stars in every way!
Best Birthday Ever!
Me and my partner went to the hotel for my birthday and it was more than I could asked for. They brought me gifts and drinks. Champagne to our room during checking and countless desserts during the trip. It’s been amazing.
Paradise with Incredible Service
We have been to many resorts around the world but keep coming back to Rosewood Mayakoba, 10 years and counting. With out a doubt, the best service we have experienced anywhere. They do everything possible to make your stay an incredible experience - paying close attention to detail, remembering all of your likes and preferences. Every single employee is empowered to make decisions on the spot, and they do. Frequently going above and beyond your expectations. The staff is warm and friendly and a key reason we keep coming back. I do not think we have heard a "no" in all the years we have come here. Rosewood's favorite expression is "welcome home". Here they truly mean it.
Great service at Punta Bonita!
My colleague and I came to Punta Bonita two days in a row during our lunch breaks. We had Frida as our server both days. She was so friendly and knowledgeable. She told us great facts about the hotel and all the great things done here.
She is an awesome team member and we enjoyed speaking with her!
Perfect trip !
We just returned from 4 nights at this property. It lived up to every expectation and 5 star review that I read. The rooms are extremely spacious. The food is fabulous. The grounds are beautiful. What sets this place apart from any other resort I have been to is the service and attention to detail. Everyday it was something else that took me by surprise that just made the trip that much better.
I played golf one day and came back to the room after dinner to find my golf shoes had been shined and they left some skin care product for sun burn with a personalized note on it. Just one example of a hundred I could give. We are already counting the days until we return.
A little part of paradise …
We have stayed at the rosewood for about half a dozen times. It is one of our favourite hotel in the world . Immaculate service unbeatable location ultra comfy rooms .. what makes it special is the Personnal touch - almost all staff members say hello are friendly and helpful . The latest relaxed lounge / restaurant Zatote is a welcome addition, Not cheap but priced to perfection.
Rosewood is our home away from home. We always have a luxe and relaxing vacation. The service is impececcable. The food is amazing. The attention to detail is unmatched. The accomodations are luxurious. Thank you!!
Best place I have every traveled to! The accommodations were amazing, hospitality incredible, food was delicious! I have traveled all over the world and this is now my favorite vacation spot! Will be going again soon. They take care of your every need and make your trip special!
Still one of the Top hotels in Mexico!
This hotel is what you have in mind when you think of a tropical vacation in an idyllic destination. Beautiful hotel grounds are only the beginning. The hotel is small enough to ensure privacy and relaxation without the large crowds that you find in other brand name area hotels. The service provided by every team member we interacted with was immaculate. Special mention needs to be given to Will, our personal butler, who went above and beyond every single time ensuring that every minute of our stay was perfectly planned and executed. This hotel is a little piece of paradise in the Riviera Maya.
Fantastic Anniversary Trip
My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary at Rosewood Mayakoba and couldn't have thought of a better experience. The service and attention to detail was impeccable - the food was amazing and our butlers were fantastic. We even explored some of the other properties on Mayakoba via bike and for a few meals and Rosewood is clearly the standard there.
The best thing we can say was that in the middle of our trip, my wife and I were already thinking about when we would come back - perhaps the best endorsement we could give.
The attention to detail and the level of service we received was beyond 5 stars. This trip was for three lifelong friends to celebrate our milestone birthdays and it is a trip that we will be talking about for a very long time. It is very obvious that Rosewood takes great care of their team members because it shows in all they do for the guests! The food was so amazing that we never left the resort to dine at the other three resorts in Mayakoba. I have personally stayed at two other Rosewood properties (Little Dix Bay and the former Caneel Bay) and this resort is 2nd to none. Our room upgrade was unexpected and a great treat! Champagne O'Clock with complimentary Veuve...brilliant! Ramon, our butler was always professional yet very attentive and made sure we were set up for success in all endeavors. I was very impressed that the welcome tray of treats in our room had been prepared with my food allergies in mind. I am allergic to cilantro so I was very nervous about the dining part of my trip. Silvia, our guest relations manager was just delightful and just so thoughtful. She did extras things to make our birthdays fabulous that were very much appreciated. Daniel, who was part of the pool crew team, faithfully ensured that we had the appropriate shade at the beach pool each of the 4 days we were there. On one occasion, I noticed Daniel moving my umbrella while I was in the pool b/c he noticed the sun had started to shine on my chair. And he moved it without me asking because he knew I did not want to get any sun. Bravo!
Daniel, member of the pool wait staff - always waited on us with a cheerful smile. Our beverages and food arrived very quickly. He was very attentive to what we might need. Our stay was an amazing experience from beginning to end. Bravo! Bravo!
