Rooms are very comfortable and cleaned, breakfast is very nice, staff is perfect. You have a spa in front of the hotel - with discount if you are staying here. Really relaxing afternoon! A couple of nice restaurants in the village, 5 min walking from the hotel. 15 min drive from here you have the miradouro and the cascata do arado - first time in Geres but from now on i will visit this place at least once per year. So so relaxing!!!

We had planned four days exploring Peneda-Geres National Park. Our Guide had suggested several options of places to stay. We chose Aguas do Geres Hotel because it was in a village and that gave us more options since we did not have a car. The hotel is centrally located with shops and different restaurants within walking distance. The hotel staff was very helpful with any questions that we had and most spoke excellent english which made it very easy. Our room was large with a king bed, desk, sitting area, large closet, and bath. We had everything we needed and a wonderful view out our window. The breakfasts had a great variety of fruit, cheese, breads, eggs and more. We don't usually have dinners at hotels but we arrived very late back from our hike the first night and decided…

Located next to the thermal facilities, this hotel is very confortable, definitely above 3 stars standard. The staff was very friendly, always warm and willing to help and chat. The room was big and comfortable, only lacking a mini bar. The Wi-Fi was free and good. They have a free parking area some 300 meters from the hotel, not bad if you consider that there aren't any options without a meter. I'm already planning on returning.

Excellent Hotel, for a break, at Gerês, protected park. Clean ample rooms, great food, simple but very nice restaurant, ideally located in the villa. The Hotel staff are very friendly, and a pleasure to deal with. Nice Bar, with a pool table.

We stayed in this hotel for our summer gateaway. We loved every minute of our stay. The hotel is very clean, carpeted all over the room (which is a personal preference!) Room is overlooking the beautiful mountains and VERY spacious. I love how the nature and modernity of the hotel collide together. Variety of food during breakfast, belly-full guaranteed! :) The hotel has this small entertainment area where you can play snooker. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool which requires a little bit of walking in a splendid forest-like area. The indoor swmming pool is located in the SPA and is not for free but there is a special discount for the hotel residents. The SPA swimming pool is basically in the top of the building and has glass windows to view the mountains (heaven!!!). I…

A few days Geres is a great idea. Walks throught the mountains coming back for a beer while watching the goings on in Mainstreet are a treat. Staying in this hotel adds to the wonderful experience. There is the comfortable feel to it that a hotel needs. Very nice and accommodating lobby. Good rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. And all in the middle of things. Added to that is a great swimmingpool area. That does take a walk through a beautiful park, along a romantic river but then you can lie down on the lawn surrounded by trees and mountains.

I could not believe it was just a 3star Hotel. Al the Hotel is very clean and all the decoration is modern and cozy at the same time! The breakfast was outstanding comparing with all other hotels I've been during holydays especially having in consideration that is only a 3 star hotel, but seemed at least 4 stars! The staff was very friendly, the room was confortable, well decorated and with all the necessary comodoties (i asked for a bigger room , a litle bit more expensive, but my friend stayed at a smaller room and it was very cozy too). I tried one of the menus suggested in the Hotel and it just dazzled me! Very high quality food, good portions and finest food in the region for what I am concerned! One of the evenings after a pedestrian walk in the montains we went for the…

Stayed for two nights. Room comfortable and very clean. Good covid precautions in place which made breakfast a bit of a drawn out process but can't fault hotel for being prudent. Food in restaurant good - generous portions. We didn't visit the outside pool or use any of the spa facilities.

My husband and I drove into town to see Gerês, stopped and were able to secure a nice room in Aguas do Gerês Hotel for two nights. The room is nice, not the fanciest but comfortable just across the street from the spa. We enjoyed walking around the small town and marveling at the beautiful river running right through the center of town.

We stayed here for a couple of nights and really enjoyed the central location, friendly staff, easy check-in and the spacious room. There was a good buffet breakfast to fuel a day's hiking and it's close to loads of restaurants in the village. It has its own restaurant as well but we did not go there. For the price there really isn't much to fault this place. The room was really big, the bed was comfy, there was a hair drier, TV and quick internet. The bathroom provided shampoo and shower gel and loads of towels. There was no safe or tea and coffee making facilities and the room carpet is perhaps due a shampoo (it wasn't super stinky by any means).

This is a cute three-star hotel, linked to the neighbouring spa in this termal village. The establishment is very comfy, modern, and all looks good, simple and impeccable clean. Good rooms with very good beds. Breakfast is served in a the cute vintage restaurant of this hotel, which also offers a nice terrace ideal for a meal al fresco. The parking lot is separated from the main building, being located in a plot of land at about 150 metres from the hotel, whose access is the main street of Gêres, which is a restricted or payment parking area. Besides the building, there is a vast and nice garden which I think belongs to the hotel -Parque das Termas-, just across the road. These charming gardens shadowed by big trees´canopy, stretch along a small river are equipped with benches,…

If you're thinking about visiting the marvellous region of Gerês, probably you're thinking about renting a cabin in the middle of nowhere, but you should consider staying in this hotel. Vila do Gerês is a great place to stay, because of its central location. And you can eat and drink at night without worrying about driving.

Spent 2 nights and need to confirm that our staying was very good, restaurant simple but good dishes and good food, restaurants staff very professional and well educated, always nice welcoming words and wishing a good meal, good evening, etc.., rooms cleans, confortable and acceptable sizes, reception goods, we should rate this hotel with one star more, they provide an outdoor pool in the middle of a natural parc, with health parcours, playground for kids, dedicated parking for hosts (300 meters). I had also an indoor pool and massage, massage very good, but there is a negative note related to the indoor pool that needs some renovations, some jet massages tubs were out of orders, Turkish bath not working at 8:30 in morning, pity part are the sky window in the ceiling Obote the…

Enjoyable break hotel rooms adequate size, the swimming pool is a bit of a disappointment as you have to walk quite a way and its in a park which is used by anyone, not just the hotel.Staff pleasant, breakfast not great tables not cleared, no Tea and the food was very very average.

Nice room with all you expect for this type of Hotel, includding Free WiFi, A/C, among others. Breakfast could be better, specially the machine coffee in a expresso coffee country! Free parking, but 400 m away and uphill all the way from the Hotel. Swimming pool it´s not in the Hotel too. It´s in a public park 250 m away. Dinner was good, but poor selection of wine, again in a wine producer country!!!

This hotel is located right in the center of the city Gerês, in front of the Termas building and the hotel normally makes an offer of massages or other treatments to all guests. This is a exquisite hotel, very well furnished and with an excellent service and staff. The rooms are wide and come with all amenities neede for the stay. The views from the room are simply irresistable!!! The mountains, the forest, all this ambiance is truly magic :-) The outside pools are settled in the midle of....forest!!!! Anyone will love this! Amazing scenery...while swimming or just relaxing in the pool, you can enjoy the breathtaking views!!! Green, green and green :-) Breakfast is buffet stule and it is very complete with several choices of food, fruits, juices and bakeries, cheese,...the…

The location next to the thermal baths was convenient; the room and bathroom were modernized; the price was fair. Beware though that the unprotected parking lot was up the hill. You must pay for parking in front of the hotel.

This is a good 3 star hotel in the main street of Geres village near mountain . It has a large living room with wifi and tv and fireplace and snooker table and bar. The rooms are good with a confortable big bed and nice and new bathroom. The breakfast is very good with several options for continental breakfast. If you want to go to the spa you just have to cross the street and enjoy several treatments . You can have meals in the hotel but there are some restaurants near by. In winter there is few things to do except spa and walks around. In summer are water sports and walking in the mountains. The surrounding are gourgeous and this is a nice place to stay.

I stayed there in October 2009 for about 2 weeks. The hotel is in the middle of the National Park next to the thermal baths and spa. Just so you know, the hotel and the thermal baths are run by the same company, so you'll find a lot of people in the hotel who are there for thermal/spa treatments, as the hotel has special prices for this kind of situation. The bedrooms are nice and clean, mine had a window facing the street and the ever-present mountains and trees, but I believe they could improve the acoustic insulation. The bathroom was ok as well. I found the hotel's living room to be particularly comfy and cozy with the dim lights and nice sofas. The restaurant was probably the best surprise for me. Breakfast includes the usual jams, butter, cheese, various types of bread,…

Stayed for 3 nights in October 2007. Very comfortable hotel with pleasant lounge. Ate at the hotel each night and enjoyed good meals. Also made extensive use of the pool table. Considering the overall quality and low cost, this hotel was extremely good value

A good town hotel with few specific distinguishing features. Pleasant rooms, some overlooking the main street, but not noisy. Well located - with complimentary access to the Thermal Park. Buffet breakfast. Large reception rooms.

We stayed here for two nights in a very wet April, so the surroundings weren't at their best. The hotel is good - we had two connecting rooms to accommodate a family of four. breakfast was ok, though coffee not great (strange for Portugal). The spa is opposite and there was a small discount for guests. Note that the spa is one smallish pool (not very warm) with a circuit of different spouts and showers that you follow. The opening hours were a bit hard to fathom and quite limited, with a lunch break. The pool for the hotel is outside and quite a walk away in a park. It was closed while we were there. It looked quite grim from outside (but that could have been the season), and the other facilities in the park looked way past their best.

This pleasant hotel is situated right in the centre of Geres right opposite the Spa ( very pricey ). The rooms are large with lovely en-suite facilities. The breakfast is adequate especially if you are a sausage and scrambled egg fan ( every day !! ). Reception staff are very helpful and the rooms impeccably clean. We chose this hotel because of the photo on booking.com showing a suite of beautiful pools. Now note that they are not listed as having a pool on Trip Advisor. The pools are actually municipal contained within the Parque Thermas. This park opens and closes at will and the pools and bar have obviously been out of action for some time. The water is completely green and the area abandoned. We are on our way home having spent 3 lovely days in Geres and the swimming pool…

The hotel is quite pleasant and the breakfast is good. The main "problem" we had was the swimming pool. We were advised during the reservation process we needed swimming caps. When we got to the hotel we where informed the pool would only be opened from the next week (15/6) onwards. Quite disapointing. Nevertheless the rest of the experience was quite good. Also be aware that the parking is about 300meters away (even though it's free)

Clean and comfortable hotel in a lovely location. Very reasonable price per room.Breakfast was included and that was OK too. The wireless internet was a bonus. There is comfortable seating within the reception area. Nice staff - very helpful.

Don't expect luxury to be this hotel highlight, however the price you pay in our opinion is good if you look into the amenities the hotel provides to you. if you look for a place to sleep in gerês, this is a good option and you won't regret, that's for sure. the rooms are very simple, but clean, however during the night some drops from the air con started to drop on the floor close to the door, but nothing special. we told to the receptionist and they just rushed into it and solved it. The staff is great providing information about the national park and tracks, and also great places to eat. The breakfast is average, but tastes good. The hotel is part of the hot springs of Gerês and there are packages to use both Hotel and hot springs.

When I arrived in Aguas do Geres, I was a little but suprised that we staid in a village with lot's of facilities. Like I read that we were in a national parc, at the beginning I missed the "nature feeling". But when you drive 10minutes you are in the middle of the nature and the advantage of the central location is that you have shops, bars and restaurants on walking distance. The checkin was friendly, but the lady at the desk spoke bearly english so she was not able to explain us everything from te hotel. For ex: de swimming pool is at at least 1km away from the. The swimming pool is located in the middle of a beautiful parc and is also a public swimming pool for the village people. So this is a disadvantage, because when you want to go for "a quick swim", you're gone for at…

The rooms are comfortable and clean, the breakfast itself was good however the rest was negative: frontdesk people were not nice nor did it feel like their cared about the well being of the guests. The wifi was simply not working for the whole weekend and the breakfast service was simply a disaster. You have to tell them at what time you want to have breakfast a day before and even then there is no structure, huge line outside and staff was not able to cope with it. Pool was not open yet - which was not mentioned anywhere before booking. All in all, bad value for money

I visited the spa and payed for a “spa circuit” and I am sorry to say that it was quite a disappointment. It costs 22€ and that is far too much for what you get. The spa area consists of a medium size swimming pool with two small jacuzzi sections in the corners. There is nothing in the pool area to make it a charming place and after some minutes it gets quite boring sitting in the water. There is also a small steam bath, which was okay, and then three different types of showers works effects of which two didn’t worked when i visited. All in all a disappointing experience and I left the place regretting that I didn’t just use the bathtub at the hotel.

This hotel is in the centre of town. It’s fine for exploring geres from, but nothing special in its own right. The rooms don’t have much of a view because of its location and no balcony. The spa is across the road and the swimming pool is a walk away. It doesn’t belong to the hotel and you have to pay for towels and ( plastic) beds . Breakfast is okay. We didn’t have any other meals there.

We booked the hotel to have a pleasant stay and to be able to relax. Unfortunately this was not possible. The outdoor pools shown on the website were 1km away and closed. On the website it says seasonal, but it was not mentioned that the pools are only open 2 months a year and currently closed. Also, the staff was unfriendly and unhelpful, there was little choice at the breakfast buffet and the coffee was an instant product. The bar closed early in the evening and the furniture in the lobby and bar seemed inappropriate and ragged together. The beds are comfortable and good and the rooms are spacious. The bathroom was clean, but already a bit outdated. On the hotel pictures it seems as if hotel, spa and thermal park are connected, but this is not so. The paid spa is on the…

My fiancé booked this hotel and spa as a treat for me during our round trip of Northern Portugal. Mostly, this experience make me feel bad for him, as he really wanted to do something nice for me. Overall, everything about this place feels incredibly dated: decor, degree of maintenance and perception of service. Examples: - weird honey-ish odour in the rooms (what is it masking?), - leaky (plastic!) shower head, - tiny bathtub that has turned yellow over time, - general signs of ageing of the furnishings, - first time food lacked flavour in Portugal, - poor e-mail communication prior to our arrival. In addition, reception staff absolutely refused to address us over the phone, even though the spoke English well enough. - reception that would not assist us with booking…
